That's what happened to me this week in the form of Janice, the granddaughter of my paternal great great uncle, Elby Adams. Janice is at the beginning of her family history search and she found me on Ancestry.com while she was searching for her grandfather. When she found him in my family tree, she contacted me and I was thrilled to hear from her. We have been able to exchange information about our family history and we now we both have a new family connection we were unaware of before last Monday. When I shared this information with my Aunt Joyce, she told me about all the fond memories she has of Janice's mother and she will now be able to share those stories with her.
I am of the belief that there is nothing to be treasured more than our families, so today I am celebrating finding a missing piece to the puzzle.

ReplyDeleteI was lucky to locate my fathers long lost cousins and my mothers adoptive sister's family. It has been a wonderful experience finding new relatives. Ancestry has been a big source of new relatives for me also!
I agree. I have linked up with many family members through ancestry. I have found it so valuable to share stories and PHOTOGRAPHS. Congrats to you Lori on finding a new family member.
ReplyDeleteOh Lori, how can I thank you and Aunt Joyce enough. My little sister Rosie, came over last night and we looked at these family photos. Who looks like who? We laughed and held our grandbabies and great niece and nephew. Thanks to all your hard work you have paved a beautiful path for us. What has been such a blessing for me is that I have been in touch with someone that actually knew my Mom and remembers the good times. Thank you from all Harriett's children. I look forward to learning more together!
ReplyDeleteHow I love receiving emails from new cousins! It is great to share stories, get to know one another, and develop a bigger picture of family.
